    Description

(Please see condition notes for more information.) This is a beautiful Mola. I purchased this used with no information on its previous ownership. It depicts a horned man or being with a tail holding two birds, with two more birds in the background. Taped to the back of the frame is a card that reads as follows:
"(7030) This is a MOLA, one of the last of the primitive art forms: a craft passed down from generation to generation. MOLA is a Cuna word meaning dress or suit. Your MOLA was stitched by the skillful hands of a Cuna Indian living on the San Blas Islands off of the coast of the Republic of Panama."
Frame appears to be solid wood that has been painted with a matte black paint.
